- Iréné Celcer, MA, LCSW, is originally from Argentina. She holds graduate degrees in psychology from Universidad de Belgrano, holistic psychology from Antioch University, and social work from Yeshiva University.
Ms. Celcer was trained in the psychoanalytic tradition. The Women’s Therapy Centre Institute of New York City, with its modern psychoanalytic object relations and cognitive perspective, was a pivotal influence in her developing theoretical orientation and manner of practice. In Atlanta, she has completed the first year of psychoanalytic psychotherapy training offered by Emory University.
As a mental health professional, Ms. Celcer specializes specializes in several areas of parenting, including infertility, third party reproductive assistance, ADD/ADHD, and bullying. She has extensive expertise in eating disorders, body image perceptions, and women's issues. As an educator, she serves at the Cliff Valley School as a substitute teacher of Spanish.
Ms. Celcer is an accomplished writer, and has published several books and articles. For the Hope & Will Have a Baby collection of books, she donates a portion of her royalties for charitable and educational purposes. Organizations include Save the Children and Equality Now.
In addition to her private practice and philanthropic work, Ms. Celcer is a member of the Mental Health Professional Group (MHPG) of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). In the past, she has served on the boards of directors of the Eating Disorders Information Network (EDIN) and of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, as well as on the advisory boards of Safe Girls Strong Girls and the The 504 School. She presently holds membersips in ASRM and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Iréné Celcer lives and works (mostly) in Atlanta, Georgia.
