What interests would you like to share with friends and members of OTI?
Our Online Think Tank finds this one of the most interesting topics of all. We are looking at how the evolution of technology is running away from human evolution and how all this technology effects who and what we are. Interesting stuff.
Can you share a brief bio?

Mental Health, Loneliness, and The Solo Professional - By Lance Winslow

By Lance Winslow

Many solo professionals have been hit hard during the recession, and many of them have let their helpers or executive secretaries go. They had no choice because they were making less money and couldn't afford the extra salary, unfortunately, this creates yet another problem.

One of loneli… Continue

By Lance Winslow

Avatars are being introduced to assist kids in eLearning. It turns out the kids love the avatars and they can be used as teacher assistants. This helps with teaching in overloaded classrooms and increases the learning of the students. What is an Avatar? Well Glad yo… Continue

Implanted Chips in the Brain by 2025 - By Lance Winslow

If we consider the long history of modern humans and their adoption of technologies and then consider the most recent hyper-advances in technology in the present period in BioTech, Computer Sciences and NanoTech, it would be silly for anyone to assume that we w… Continue

Hello Lance...

Nothing to do with our common interests to say at this stage, but I *did* want to say that is a fab truck... (I'm from the UK - we don't see a lot of that sorta stuff)

Stephen, yes, I think you will be interested. I follow all the Ted Conference videos and the Singularity Institute. Our Online Think Tank studies all areas of this dilemma, from the Uni-Bomber Manifeasto and books on the subject to the concerns of the Electronic Frontier and DARPA funding. It is very interesting. I really have not taken sides, I believe that the technology will serve us well, but we may leave folks behind that decide they want to stay "pure" if you will rather than moving with the times.

Luckily most Grandparents now use email, but some refuse to buy a computer, this separates and alienates. But too, our kids are changing and it is effecting everything in different ways.

Im interested in yr writing - esp on technol revolutionising lives and relating (THE topic for online therapy of course). Cultural analysis through sci fi has a long and brilliant history (I once worked with an anthropologist who used it for speculative/non research based working through of ideas). Where is your thinking going? Feel free to start a thread on the OTI forums on the ideas behind it...?

Hi Lance

Now I'm going to have to read all your stuff instead of doing the housework. Damnit.
